(deprecated) Enable Google Analytics integration
This approach is deprecated
We no longer advise you to use this integration. Instead use the approach described in the other article (Connect data from AutoChat to Google Analytics).
It is possible to measure how many chats have taken place. We specifically chose version 4 of Google Analytics. We do not support Google Analytics Universal Analytics. To get information about the chats into your Google Analytics account, we need some data in the AutoChat dashboard. The data from the GA account can be obtained this way.
We assume you already have a Google Analytics 4 account available, if not create one first. If you are following along and get stuck (you see something different in your account or a button is missing) during any of the steps please consult the person who is managing the Google Analytics account. You are probably missing certain access rights.
Open https://analytics.google.com/analytics/web/#/ and click on admin in the bottom of the screen
Select the correct account and select data streams
Select the correct datastream, if none exists create one first
Write down the measurement ID, you will need this later on to insert it into our dashboard
Click on measurement protocol API secrets
Create a new secret, give it a name and click create.
The secret is now visible in the overview, this is the 2nd part of data you need to enter into our dashboard.
You now have the measurement ID and API secret. When you login to our dashboard you can go to organizations menu item. On that page, click the slider to enable the integration and fill in the required information:
Click save on the top of the page and you are all set.
